Leanne Blackwell, a Construction Secretary at Northampton-based Bloor Homes South Midlands, has raised over £300 for Alzheimer’s and Dementia support services by completing the 25km Ultra Challenge Halloween Walk in London.

Leanne took on the 25km walk along the Thames and through the heart of the capital to the London Dungeons, finishing 242nd out of 395 participants in an impressive 5 hours and 10 minutes. Dressed for the Halloween-themed occasion, she embarked on the route with many others taking part in the event run yearly by the Ultra Challenge Series, a non-profit that has raised a record £10+ million so far in 2024.

Raising a total of £337, the Bloor Homes employee smashed her £300 target with every penny going to the support of those who live with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Carl Slater, Managing Director for Bloor Homes’ South Midlands Region, said: “We are unbelievably proud of Leanne’s dedication to Alzheimer’s and Dementia support, and we commend her determination in completing the 25km walk around London. To singlehandedly raise over £300 is extremely impressive, and everyone at Bloor Homes admires her commitment to the cause. Well done, Leanne!”

Leanne said: “It was an incredible experience – thanks you to everyone who supported me with donations as well as from the sidelines, I’d recommend this as a great way to see London and raise money for a great cause.”
