Community foundations local groups encouraged to apply for funds
Local charities and community groups in Mickleover, Derbyshire and the surrounding area have 30th April to apply for one of four £250 donations from Bloor Homes' Community Fund (launched today).
The new homes developer is inviting charities and community groups close to Cromwell Orchard - a new development of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom traditionally built homes in Mickleover, Derbyshire - to apply, with the money going towards projects, initiatives, or equipment.
Situated just 15 minutes from Derby City Centre, Cromwell Orchard is Bloor Homes’ third development in Mickleover. The collection of high-quality, energy-efficient homes are designed to foster a real sense of community in this popular Derbyshire village, something Bloor Homes is keen to support through the Community Fund initiative.
Angie Prince, Sales Director for Bloor Homes' Midlands region, said: "Bloor Homes is a keen supporter of community, sports and charitable organisations and projects across all our regions. We have £1,000 in the community fund at Cromwell Orchard, but rather than make one donation to a single organisation, we want to share it across four different charities or community groups - £250 each - in Mickleover and the surrounding areas.
"We're really looking forward to hearing from local organisations about the projects they are currently seeking to fund – whether that's for new equipment, supporting a community initiative, or delivering vital services to those who need them most."
Applying is easy - representatives from the charity or community group can simply send an email of up to 500 words and include up to three photos to: bloormidscommunityfund@oliver.agency Entries should include an outline of:
- the project they are seeking to fund and how it will benefit the organisation and the wider community
- why they think their charity or community group should receive one of the four £250 donations
- contact details for Bloor Homes to notify them if they are successful
Angie adds: "As well as the donation, we'd like to help raise awareness of the fantastic organisations doing great work in the local area, so please do send in your ideas and tell us how this funding will make a difference to your cause and the people you support."
Angie Prince and Bloor Homes' Sales Manager for Cromwell Orchard will decide on the final four recipients to receive £250 each. The successful organisations will be informed on Tuesday 5th May.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Thursday 30th April.
