Bloor Homes pledges £500 to Melton Mowbray community arts project improving children's mental health
In the spirit of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, Bloor Homes has donated £500 to Kick Up the Arts, a community arts project that provides a creative hub for Melton Mowbray locals and organises wellbeing craft workshops for children and families in the area.
Kick Up the Arts approached Bloor Homes for support and the developer was happy to donate £500 towards the organisations’ valuable community work that improves lives.
Eleanor Lovett from Kick Up the Arts said, "As a community group of artists we're incredibly grateful for the £500 donation from Bloor Homes. This support will help us deliver sessions for young people who face barriers to accessing creative activities in the community. We can't wait to get started and make a positive impact on their creativity and mental wellbeing."
Bloor Homes is building a range of brand-new energy-efficient one, two, three and four bedroom homes at Stapleford Heights, a new neighbourhood on Scalford Road in Melton Mowbray. The developer prides itself on improving the local communities in which it builds, having contributed £8.6 million in its Section 106 payments to Leicestershire County Council as part of the planning agreement for Stapleford Heights.
Clare Bright, Sales Director for East Midlands said: “Kick Up the Arts is a really important local community group providing creative sessions and therapy to support the mental health of the community of Melton Mowbray. As soon as they approached us, we were very happy to support the valuable work of this organisation. The promotion of wellbeing and mental health is extremely important to us at Bloor Homes, and we aim to set a standard of mindfulness and looking out for others both within the company, through our collaboration with the construction industry’s Lighthouse Charity for example, and in the communities surrounding our developments.”
Stapleford Heights is open daily for visits from 10am – 5pm and located a short drive from the centre of town, with commuter links to both Nottingham and Leicester.
