Bloor Homes Midlands donates £5000 to Atherstone Town Community Football Club

Bloor Homes’ Midlands head office based in Tamworth has become an official sponsor of Atherstone Town Community Football Club, beginning the partnership with a £5,000 donation to the club.

Originally formed in 1887, Atherstone Town CFC is home to the Adders, the club’s first team that competes in the Midland Football League. The Club serves as a cornerstone of Atherstone’s community and fosters a common ground where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can come together. Run by a team of officials, board directors, committee members and volunteers, Atherstone Town CFC recognises its crucial role as a collective to promote mental health and well-being awareness within the community, an ethos shared by Bloor Homes.

Maria Beale, Chairman at Atherstone Town CFC, describes the club as more than just a place to watch football: “As a proud community club, we have ambitious goals for both our stadium and our role within the local area. We’re excited to form a new partnership with Bloor Homes, who share this vision for the area of Atherstone, and we look forward to welcoming new homeowners to our fantastic club.”

Bloor Homes consistently shows support for local communities across all its regions and has supported well-being initiatives through an array of projects and donations across the country.

This latest donation is part of its community support in Atherstone where the developer is building a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Atherstone Place, a new energy-efficient neighbourhood located on Old Holly Lane, just 0.6 miles from the football club’s grounds.

Angie Prince, Sales Director for Bloor Homes’ Midlands region, said: “We’re always looking to work with the community organisations that support the local people to our developments, and we appreciate the amazing ethos Atherstone Town CFC promotes across the town. Alongside our sponsorship of the Adders and the wider club, Bloor Homes wishes Atherstone Town CFC the best of luck for the rest of the season.”

Maria adds: “The donation will be used for important ground maintenance and improvement works to our new community room. We also have a classic old school stadium that is due some investment, and donations such as Bloor Homes’ will go a long way towards that.”

Atherstone Place in Atherstone is located on Old Holly Lane and is open daily for visits and from 10am-5pm.
