Bloor Homes and contractor partners donate Pennywell pigs to Exeter school

Thanks to donations from Bloor Homes and its contracted partners P Deare Carpentry & Joinery, Pro Bricklayers and CJL Construction, Trinity CofE Primary & Nursery School has received two micro-pigs from Pennywell Farm, along with a brand-new shed for them to call home.

Located on the developer’s Seabrook Orchards development near Topsham, Trinity CofE Primary & Nursery School has built an enriching Forest School programme for its students, led by HTLA Forest School Lead, Carrie Searle. Forest School is a child-centred holistic learning programme designed to support hands-on educational experiences in a natural setting. Having received the funding for the micro-pigs from P Deare Carpentry & Joinery and Pro Bricklayers, facilitated by a mutual connection with Bloor Homes, Trinity’s outdoor development programme will allow students to care for the animals and nurture a stronger connection with the natural world.

Carrie Searle, HTLA Forest School Lead at Trinity CofE Primary & Nursery School, said: ‘Our Forest School is an integral part of the immersive learning experience we provide at Trinity, and we can’t wait to introduce the children to our newest residents, Bubble and Squeak. We’re very grateful to Bloor Homes for connecting us with the generous teams at P Deare Carpentry & Joinery and Pro Bricklayers, and of course for donating the new shed, Bubble and Squeak’s very own Bloor home!”

Having facilitated the partnership between Trinity School and the local contractors used to build the array of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Seabrook Orchards, Bloor Homes topped off the funding project with a state of the art shed for the micro-pigs, paying homage to its prevalent housebuilding craft.

Marijke D’Crus, Sales Manager at Bloor Homes Exeter, said: “We are thrilled to welcome two new residents to Seabrook Orchards; a pair of friendly new homeowners who have relocated from Pennywell Farm onto the Trinity Primary School site in our Seabrook Orchards neighbourhood. Collaborating on this donation with our local contractors P Deare Carpentry & Joinery, Pro Bricklayers and CJL Construction has been very rewarding for all parties and reflects our commitment to supporting local businesses and organisations where we build.

“The Forest School initiative is a brilliant programme that we continually support both in the Exeter region and across the country. The team look forward to keeping up with Bubble and Squeak and the Trinity students’ journey with them as our strong relationship with Trinity CofE Primary & Nursery School continues.”
