Things to do in and around Wombourne
The village of Wombourne itself is home to a wide range of amenities from several food stores for your weekly shop, including a farm shop, as well as a pharmacy, butcher, a bank and a post office. And if you want to stay in the village for a drink or two, The Vine and Waggon & Horses pubs are the places to go.

A number of important footpaths cross Wombourne which, as well as providing great leisure options, also allow walkers and cyclists to gain safe access to the village and surrounding countryside.
The Wom Brook Walk is a local nature reserve which is set entirely within the boundaries of the village, and has plenty of meadow and woodland areas to explore in this 1.5 mile area. There is also Saltwells Nature Reserve just 7 miles away.

Venture out a little further and The Wulfrun Shopping Centre, in the heart of Wolverhampton is home to a large range of high street brands and chain restaurants, while the city itself is where you will find an even greater choice. Well-known brands, independent shops and places to eat and drink sit alongside leisure and entertainment options. There is a multiscreen cinema, theatres and for fans of art, the Wolverhampton Art Gallery is a good place to visit.

Transport in and around Wombourne
Rest assured in knowing that choosing a new home at Himley Meadows, you'll be well connected by both road and rail. With the M54 being approximately 10 miles from the development, alongside a number of other major roads, Himley Meadows is ideally located for getting to several surrounding towns easily. Telford is around 27 minutes away via the M54, while Kidderminster is also under 30 minutes via the A449. Longer journeys include Birmingham in around 55 minutes (via the B4176) and Worcester in just over an hour (via the M5).
 
Schools and education in Wombourne
Families moving to Himley Meadows will appreciate the wide choice of schools for all ages in the surrounding area. There are four primary schools in Wombourne; Westfield, St. Bernadette's R.C., Blakeley Heath and St. Benedict Biscop, so the needs of younger children are easily taken care of.

Secondary education is provided by Ounsdale High School, while Cherry Tree's special school and Adult Education centres operate in several locations around the village, including the High School and the Library. As for further education the University of Wolverhampton is just 7 miles away, with the University of Birmingham 14 miles from home.
