Exeter couple find their first home together at Seabrook Orchards

An Exeter couple have found their perfect first home together at Bloor Homes’ Seabrook Orchards development in Topsham.

Dan Kortland, 26, and Hatty Atkins, 24, purchased a three-bedroom semi-detached house at the development having moved back to the area after a spell working in London.

Now based in Exeter, residential sales agent Dan says it was Bloor Homes’ reputation for quality which led them to Seabrook Orchards, just five miles south of the city.

And the couple, who moved in with their six-month old Tibetan Terrier Teddy, say they could not be more delighted with their purchase.
Dan said: “After battling rising house prices in London where the average deposit is around £60,000, we are thrilled to be home owners locally. With experience in the industry and having worked with a number of developers, Bloor Homes stood out because of the quality and variety of house types offered.”
Hatty, who works as a primary school teacher, said: “We were quite particular about the location of our first house together, with myself commuting to school outside Exeter and Dan to the city centre.

Seabrook Orchards is very well situated and has easy access to the M5, A38 and Exeter Airport.
“The Bloor sales advisors were all very helpful and a special mention must go to the assistant site manager Craig, who was fantastic and extremely helpful with our snagging list.
“We would definitely recommend the development to anyone looking for an affordable high quality new home in a good location.”
The couple were able to secure their new home with a small deposit and reduced mortgage thanks to the Help to Buy scheme, which provides an equity loan of 20 per cent towards the purchase price, interest-free for the first five years.
Dan added: “The Help to Buy Scheme is a great incentive that helps first time buyers and young couples like us make that step up onto the market which has been increasingly difficult in recent years.”
