Andy Ward has been promoted to the position after three years as a contracts manager.
He will be responsible for overseeing construction work at the North West division, which has sites in Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, the Wirral and North Wales.
Having spent 11 years as a contracts manager with various housebuilders, Andy has long held ambitions of becoming a construction director, but insists he only wanted to take the next step in his career with Bloor.
The 46-year-old father of two, who lives in Liverpool, said: “I had opportunities to go up the ladder elsewhere but I wanted to be a construction director with Bloor Homes because I believe in their ethos as a developer and as a company."
“Bloor is a fantastic company to work for. They are supportive, they give you the tools to do the job and they have a strong commitment to quality."
“It is a very exciting time for me to be taking on this position, as the region is about to embark on a period of significant growth. I have got a great opportunity to put my own stamp on the business and make the region’s construction department shine.”
Andy started his housebuilding career as an assistant site manager with Maunders Homes in 1989 after leaving Nottingham University with a HND in construction management.
He later joined Beazer Homes as a site manager before moving onto Westbury Homes, where he was promoted to contracts manager.
Further stints as a contracts manger followed with, among others, Bellway and Bovis, before he joined Bloor in 2013
