Ben Peddie, 31, has taken on the role with the Newbury-based housebuilder, which is aiming for significant expansion over the coming years.

The developer is on track to increase its number of live sites and annual output from 350 to 500 homes by June 2017, with targets set to increase further in the future.

Ben, who is father to a five-year-old son and lives in Guildford, joined Bloor from Berkeley Homes, where he worked his way up from Trainee Site Manager to Regional Build Manager during his 13 years with the company.

The keen golfer, snowboarder and rugby enthusiast decided to embark on a career in construction whilst working as a Labourer for a local builder during his teenage years.

His passion for the industry grew stronger over several years of working alongside different building trades, and his progressive move into Management was a chance to put his enthusiasm and drive into constructive use within a large organisation.

He says the opportunity to become a Director with Bloor was too good to turn down, and a position he had always strived to achieve.

“Becoming a director was something I was always working towards so I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity with Bloor Homes, particularly at such a young age”, said Ben.

“The region is growing in terms of the number of active sites and locations, and I’m extremely excited about being part of that growth and having the ability to put my own stamp on the business.

“We are setting out a long-term strategy for the business, but in the more immediate term I want us to become the best performing region in the Group within 12 months, and every day is a step closer to achieving that.”

John Lusty, Regional Managing Director at Bloor Homes Southern, said: “Despite his relatively young age, Ben has an extremely impressive track record within the industry and we are delighted he has accepted the position of construction director with us.

“We believe his ambition, enthusiasm and strategic vision makes him the ideal person to lead our construction department as we look to grow the business in the years ahead.”
