Hampton Farm Shop, which attracts customers from across the country, has moved to a new 11,000 sq ft unit just a stone’s throw away from its former home on Pershore Road.

The move has enabled the shop to significantly expand its range of produce and take on two new members of staff.

The new shop, which includes a small café with outdoor seating, was provided as part of the new homes development being built next door by Bloor Homes and Bellway Homes.

Construction work is continuing on the first phase of the development, which will comprise 151 homes in total – 75 at Bloor’s The Hamptons site and 76 at Bellway’s The Orchard development.

Chris Groves, owner of Hampton Farm Shop, said: “The new housing development presented us with a great opportunity to expand into larger premises and the move is fantastic for the long-term future of the business.

“Our new shop is about three times the size of our old place and as well as stocking fruit, vegetables and plants, we are now selling freshly made pies, meat, bread, milk and ice cream.

“The new café has also been a really popular addition.”

Founded in 1995, Hampton Farm Shop moved from its 60-year-old premises to enable a new roundabout to be installed on the access road serving the new development.

Chris, who began working at the shop as a teenager and now runs it with his wife Esther, added: “The feedback we have received from our customers about the new shop has been really positive. Our old shop had a rustic feel, and this is something we have tried to retain with the new building, which has been made with timber.

“Throughout building work at the housing development, we remain very much open for business, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning customers to our fantastic new shop.”

Sally Holt, Regional Sales Manager at Bloor Homes Western, said: “We were delighted to play a part in the successful relocation of Hampton Farm Shop and it’s wonderful to see the business thriving in its new premises.

“The shop delivers a valuable service to the local community and I’m sure it will be very popular with future residents at The Hamptons.”

Divisional Sales Manager for Bellway’s South Midlands, Jane Yolland said: “Supporting the existing communities where we build is very important to us, and it’s fantastic to see that the Hampton Farm Shop is as popular as ever following its expansion.

“The shop will be a great resource for future residents at Orchard Place, and we wish the business all the best for the future.”

As well as providing 151 new homes and the new farm shop building in the first phase of the development, Bloor and Bellway will make combined financial contributions of more than £1m towards local services and community facilities through a planning agreement.
