Around 70 people gathered on the green at Bloor Homes’ The Greenway development off Park Road, which was awash with bunting to mark the historic occasion.
Youngsters took part in a variety of games and activities, including a sack race and Royal-themed colouring competition, while the adults pitted their wits against each other in a general knowledge quiz.
Bloor Homes laid on some delicious cupcakes for residents, donated prizes for the competitions and also arranged a bouncy castle to keep the children entertained.
Tracy Newlands, a sales advisor at the development, said: “There is a fantastic community spirit amongst the residents at The Greenway and it was wonderful to see them come together to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
“Among those at the event were people who have yet to move in, so this was a great opportunity for them to get to know their new neighbours. The residents did a wonderful job of organising the event and we were delighted to support them.
“We had a few showers during the day but nothing could dampen the wonderful spirit of the occasion, and everyone who came had a great time.”
