Ashley McGuinn, a Year Five pupil at Fairford Church of England Primary School, created a fantastic Roald Dahl-inspired scheme which won first prize in the Design a Bedroom Competition run by Bloor Homes at its Fairford Gate development.

Ashley’s scheme has been incorporated into the design of a bedroom within the new showhome at Bloor’s development in Fairford, where Ashley was welcomed to see the room for herself and to thank her for her help.

Paula Gwilliam, Regional Senior Sales Manager for Bloor Homes, said: “It’s been fantastic to see Ashley’s design come to life in our new showhome.

“All the entries were brilliantly creative and imaginative but Ashley’s design really stood out, and the bedroom she has helped to design has made our showhome something special.

“It was great to show Ashley around the home – particularly the bedroom she helped to design. We hope that Ashley enjoyed looking around the home as much as we enjoyed welcoming her to Fairford Gate.”

The scheme includes a Fantastic Mister Fox mural, Roald Dahl wallpaper featuring Matilda, the B.F.G. and James and the Giant Peach, and a giant stuffed giraffe inspired by The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me.

Fairford Gate is a development of two to five-bedroom homes located between Cirencester and Swindon in the market town of Fairford.
