A site manager at a Bloor Homes development in Wareham is celebrating after winning a prestigious industry award – just over a year after taking over his first site.
George Albion, 33, who is in charge at the Westgate development off Worgret Road, has received a Quality Award in the 2016 Pride in the Job Awards, putting him among the top rank in his profession.

Run by the NHBC (National House Building Council), Pride in the Job recognises those who achieve the very best standards in construction and is the highest accolade that a site manager can receive.

The Quality Awards are decided by NHBC Building Inspectors who rate site managers on their attention to detail, quality of workmanship, technical expertise and leadership qualities.

George, who lives in Poole, said: “It’s been a long-held ambition of mine to win a Pride in the Job award so I’m absolutely over the moon to have achieved it.
“I’m a firm believer in leading by example and making sure everyone on site is aware of the standards that are expected with them and I’m delighted with how the team have responded.

“We go over and above to ensure we deliver a high quality product for our customers so to be recognised for that by the NHBC is a great feeling.”
George will now go forward to the Pride in the Job regional awards later in the year, where he will be competing to become one of just 130 site managers to win a Seal of Excellence Award.

John Lusty, Regional Managing Director at Bloor Homes Southern, said: “At Bloor we are rightly very proud of the quality of our developments so we are delighted that George’s efforts at Westgate have been recognised with a Pride in the Job award.

“The accolade is a testament not only to George’s excellent leadership qualities, but also reflects the outstanding contributions by the whole team at Westgate who have worked tirelessly to make the development a success.

“George richly deserve this award for his commitment and willingness to go the extra mile for his customers and we wish him all the best in the regional finals later this year.”
