After two previous attempts to sell her existing property, Susan Ryan has made her dream move to a new house in Newbury with the help of a developer’s Home Exchange scheme.

Susan, 46, had wanted to move to Bloor Homes’ Greenham development in Greenham ever since she first heard that homes were going to be built on the site. And after seeing the sale of their four-bedroom detached house in Thatcham fall through on two occasions, she and her husband jumped at the opportunity to use Bloor’s Home Exchange scheme, ensuring the same fate would not befall them a third time.

Under the scheme, Bloor purchased Susan’s existing property for a price based on valuations by two local estate agents, meaning she and her husband did not have to worry about selling the house themselves.

Susan, who has moved into a four-bedroom detached house at Greenham Gardens, said: “This was our third attempt at trying to move and we were just getting fed up with it. Everything kept falling through.

“We went for the Home Exchange scheme and thank goodness we did. We hoped it would make the whole house buying process much easier and it certainly did that. Everything went very smoothly and the customer service from Bloor was excellent. I couldn’t recommend the scheme enough.”

Susan, who works in sales in Thatcham, said she had been attracted to the area by its green surroundings.

“We have been looking to move to Greenham for quite some time. We like the greenery which we didn’t have before, so we moved quickly when we saw the Greenham Gardens development was coming.”

After visiting the showhome at Bloor’s nearby Harwood Place development in Woolton Hill, Susan and her husband reserved the first plot at Greenham Gardens off-plan – the four-bedroom detached Chaucer house type.

"We had been living in a three-storey town house before so we liked the fact the Chaucer had everything we needed on two floors. We have got a nice big utility room and my husband has got an office which he really wanted.

“We were always looking to buy new build because of the convenience and freshness, and as soon as we saw the showhome at Harwood Place we knew a Bloor Home was for us.”

A range of two, three and four-bedroom homes are currently available at Greenham Gardens, priced between £325,000 and £610,000.
