Investing in the perfect team

The South West region is therefore delighted to announce that it has strengthened its team with the addition of two new members of staff, Emma Arney and Isaac Kibblewhite, to its sales and land divisions. Meanwhile, the company is celebrating the success of long standing employee, Alby Morris, who has recently been recognised at the highest level in the LABC Warranty Site Manager Awards.

With previous experience in the retail sector, Emma, who is working as a Trainee Sales Advisor at the recently launched Thornbury Fields development in Thornbury, was looking for more than just another sales position, as she explains: “The role appealed to me because it is very customer facing which I love. More than that, it was with a company that I could build a career with; Bloor Homes has such a fantastic reputation I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me.”

Indeed, having worked within the housebuilding industry for many years, it was the career opportunities and ‘team’ ethos that comes from working for a private house builder which attracted Isaac Kibblewhite to the role as Land Director for Bloor Homes South West. Isaac commented: “It is very collective within the region in terms of responsibility and everyone is focused on a like-minded set of objectives, which really does allow us to deliver the best possible homes for our customers”

And it is this commitment to consistently delivering the highest quality build and superior levels of customer service which has seen Alby Morris, Senior Site Manager at Thornbury Fields, become a finalist in the LABC Site Manager of the Year awards.

Alby comments: “I am overjoyed to have been nominated and feel so grateful to my hard working team for all of their efforts to make this a truly stand out development. The quality of our workmanship has been recognised at every stage of the build, from the foundations right through to the interior finish.

“I really do enjoy working for Bloor Homes. The family ethos means you aren’t just a number – everyone has a voice and there is a genuine opportunity to progress and be recognised.”

The LABC awards are among the most coveted in the industry and are awarded after an intensive selection process which includes a formal assessment to evaluate the quality of build at key stages of the development, plus a series of site inspections to assess on-going excellence in construction and technical building control.

As a regional finalist, Alby will now go on to represent Bloor Homes at the LABC National Building Excellence Awards in November.

John Lusty, Managing Director at Bloor Homes South West, concludes: “The LABC awards are truly prestigious, so we were absolutely delighted to hear that Alby has been recognised above so many other nominees for his outstanding commitment to quality at every step of the build.

“All of our team play a crucial role in delivering high-quality houses that our customers can be proud to call home and this latest success is the culmination of lots of dedication and hard work across the board. I am very proud of the team we have here and would like to wish Alby the best of luck for the finals.”
