A family affair at Silsoe Grange as buyer recommends development to cousin

The self-employed telecoms consultant has now moved  into his new four-bedroom detached home with his wife Pushpa, 53, and their daughter Chaaya, 22. The family previously lived in a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Luton.

Both families avoided the stress of trying to find a buyer for their old properties by taking advantage of Bloor's hassle-free Home Exchange Scheme.

And thanks to Bloor's Recommend A Friend scheme, Nina will receive £250 from the developer as a thank you for recommending the development.

Kanti said: "We have been looking for a new home for quite a while. I went for a drink with my uncle, Nina's dad. He said that Nina was buying a place and I should talk to her and that's how it started.

"We were looking for a location with a bit more greenery. We had a look round the site and registered our interest in the Shenstone showhome as we wanted a quick move. At that time the showhome wasn't on the market, but then a few weeks later I got a call and we started the transaction then."

Although benefiting from a peaceful village setting, Silsoe is conveniently located for travelling to Luton, where Pushpa works as an administrator at the local hospital.

Kanti added: "The area is a good location. It's not far from the motorway and the train station. We have quite a few friends in Luton and it's only about 15 minutes away. It's a quieter area with a village feel. It really does offer a great quality of life."

Nina, 39, has also moved into her new home with husband Raj, 40, and their three children, Kiya, 11, Riya, 8, and Veer, 3. They also previously lived in a three-bedroom house in Luton.

Nina said: "We wanted to give the kids a better opportunity in terms of space, so we were looking for a bigger house. But at the same time my parents and my husband's parents are in Luton and we didn't want to be too far away.

"We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and Silsoe is such a beautiful area with so much to offer. It's really idyllic and there's so much space for the kids to play out in."

"We absolutely love our new home. Silsoe has a wonderful reputation, so to be living here is very special."

The development's excellent transport connections were also a major draw for both Nina, a headcount finance manager for Santander, and Raj, an engineer who works in Luton.

Nina said: "The location is fantastic and really convenient for commuting. I'm based in Milton Keynes and also work in Luton and I can get to both within 15 minutes."

Delighted to be receiving £250 through Bloor's Recommend A Friend Scheme, Nina said she had been waxing lyrical about her new home to everyone she meets.

"I have been telling everyone how lovely and spacious the homes are and encouraging them to come and have a look at Silsoe Grange.

On the benefits of using Bloor's Home Exchange scheme, Nina said: "Our house sold within two weeks of being on the market, but we didn't want to lose this plot so it made sense for us to part exchange and let Bloor sell our house."

Kanti added: "It was very good for us. It really cut out the hassle of us putting the property on the market. Once you have done the deal you don't have to worry about finding a buyer for your property as that's Bloor's responsibility. It's a brilliant way of doing things."

Silsoe Grange is a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom houses, located in the quintessentially English village of Silsoe.
