Newly-wed, Alison Bolton-Malyon, is one local house buyer who made the most of the government's Help to Buy scheme, relocating from Watford to Bloor Homes' Silsoe Grange development with husband James.

Having purchased a home, got engaged and planned the perfect wedding all within the space of four months, Help to Buy made the move a lot easier for the couple. Alison explains: "It was my sister-in-law, who lives close to the development, who actually recommended Bloor Homes to us. I was really keen to move up the property ladder and buy a house, but was finding it just too expensive in Watford.

"When I bought my home, I was unaware at the time that I would soon be getting married, so it potentially could have been a very stressful process. Thanks to the great sales team at Silsoe Grange and the Help to Buy scheme, everything went without a hitch."

Upsizing from a two bedroom flat to a three bedroom house, Alison continues: "I instantly fell in love with Silsoe Grange and the surrounding area, but what really sold the house was the amazing sales team. The sales advisors were so helpful and couldn't have been better, even taking their time to guide us through the Help to Buy scheme in detail - it was worlds away from my previous buying experience.

"Three weeks after first visiting the development, I had sold my flat and signed all the relevant paperwork - when I want something I tend to really go for it!"

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director for Bloor Homes South Midlands region, concludes: "We always aspire to provide the highest levels of customer service and I'm delighted that we were able to help find Alison the perfect home in the perfect location. I would urge anyone looking for a new home to come and talk to one of our sales advisors about Help to Buy, as it could be the way to make owning your own property a reality."

Help to Buy makes it possible to buy a home priced up to £600,000 with as little as a 5% deposit. In addition, for new-build homes, a loan of up to 20% of the price of the property is available from the government.

Ideally located in the village of Silsoe, Bedfordshire, the development offers homeowners a quintessentially British lifestyle, characterised by historic local treasures including an old village church and Millennium green, whilst modern conveniences are just a short drive away. Silsoe Grange also benefits from easy access to Bedford, Luton, Ampthill and Shefford, via the A6 and the A507, making it perfectly placed for commuters.
