Bloor Homes Reveals Priorities for House Hunter in Rugby
25/01/2015 - General
Two thirds (67.5%) said they would be prepared to compromise on the house itself to live in the right area, highlighting the main features of an ‘ideal community’ to be friendly neighbours (77.4%), a clean, well maintained environment (35.4%) and a corner shop (31.6%), while one in 10 said living near a park was important to be able to walk the dog.
It seems home owners in Rugby also have very exacting requirements when it comes to defining their dream home and the wish list includes a maximum commute to work of 30 minutes (14%), country pub nearby (10.4%) and a house situated in a cul-de-sac (7.4%).
When asked about the house itself, a lack of driveway is a deal breaker for most people (62.3%), while respondents were split on the ideal size of garden with 54% believing big is beautiful and 46% preferring something small and perfectly formed. The majority (78.3%) will also be thinking about their family’s future needs when assessing the layout and size of the house to ensure it will be perfect for the long term.
Vanessa Macnee, sales director for Bloor Homes South Midlands, explains: “These findings show that Rugby really is a town of property lovers and that homeowners enjoy thinking about the attributes that come together to create the perfect place to live. Location is the one thing that cannot be changed, which is why we aspire to build communities in some of the best settings, such as Eden Park.”
Eden Park in Rugby offers homeowners the best of both worlds, surrounded by mature open space and woodland, whilst being located just a few minutes from the town centre. Eden Park is also perfect for commuters, with the M6, M1 and M45 motorways easily accessed via the A45, whilst Rugby rail station operates a direct service to Birmingham New Street station and London Euston Station in under an hour.
