Nearly two thirds (63%) of people in Rugby, Warwickshire, think they will achieve their aspirational home and when it comes to what makes an ideal home, many recognise that it isn’t necessarily about size of the property.  Top of the priority list when buying a new home remains finding a property within budget (97%) and in the right location (95%), with location being the starting point for any house purchase journey.

Furthermore, when it comes to what practicalities make their ideal home, eco credentials proved a key consideration for homeowners in Warwickshire, with double glazing (89%) and energy efficient heating (83%) the two most popular criteria.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director at Bloor Homes South Midlands, explains: “We undertook this research to understand the aspirations of homeowners in Warwickshire, and while the results show that some people may perceive their aspirational home is out of reach, the reality could be very different.  Living in the ideal home isn’t necessarily about having a massive property, it’s more about having the perfect home that’s in the right location and suits the homeowner’s lifestyle.

“Support from initiatives such as Help to Buy and Bloor Homes’ Home Exchange scheme are making that aspirational move achievable, as well as affordable, for many homeowners. What’s more, not only do we offer the highest quality and inspirational design, we also use the very latest in energy efficient technologies which, as our research shows, is incredibly important for today’s house hunter in their ideal home".
