Double success for Crewe site managers with top industry accolade

Saxon Gate, in Crewe has scored a double success at a prestigious industry awards ceremony.

Site managers Shaun Marshall and Ken Baker were both highly commended at the 2016 North West LABC Warranty Awards for their work at Bloor’s Saxon Gate development, putting them among the top four site managers in the region. And Shaun also picked up the award for LABC Residential Site Agent of the Year for Cheshire during the prize-giving ceremony at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.

The LABC Warranty awards celebrate the outstanding contribution of site managers who have a vision for quality and who go that extra mile to deliver the highest standards in construction.Site manager Shaun and his assistant Ken have forged a formidable partnership during their 18 months at the Saxon Gate development off Parkers Road, having previously worked at another Bloor site in Ellesemere, Shropshire.Shaun, 51, who has been with Bloor for the past six years, said: “It’s a great honour to be recognised by the judges and I’m especially delighted to be sharing my success with Ken.“We have worked really well together over the last few years and we’ve built up a very strong team of tradespeople on the site. At Bloor we are committed to delivering homes of the highest quality and I’m extremely proud that we have been able to deliver that vision at Saxon Gate.”
Ken, 67, who has spent 20 years of his career with Bloor, said: “As site managers our reward comes when you hand over the keys to a satisfied customer, but this award is like the icing on the cake.“We’re really pleased with the quality of product we have achieved at Saxon Gate. It’s a fantastic site and the team there are a pleasure to work with.”

Mike Swatton, LABC Warranty Business Development Director and Head Judge, said: “Over the last few years LABC Warranty has seen build standards improve, and we are delighted with the quality of contenders nominated in 2016. “With over 3000 eligible site managers, it is a great achievement to have been selected as one of the regional finalists.
