Bloor Homes answers call to resurface school's potholed car park

A Nottinghamshire primary school’s badly potholed car park has been resurfaced by contractors working on Bloor Homes' nearby, Spring Park developent.

The car park at Lambley Primary School, off Catford Lane, had fallen in to disrepair after five years of wear and tear and needed retarmacking.

The school appealed to Bloor Homes, whose Spring Park development is located just down the road in Mapperley, for help.

And the developer responded by working with its subcontractors Chasetown Civil Engineering to repair the badly damaged road surface, much to the delight of staff and pupils.

As well as serving the school, the car park is also open to the public and frequently used by visitors to Lambley Village Hall.

Catherine Church, a governor at Lambley Primary School, said: “The car park was in danger of becoming a safety hazard so we were keen to get it repaired as quickly as possible. We have around 20 members of staff who regularly park there, and the children walk through it to get onto the playing fields for PE.

“We were delighted when Bloor Homes responded to our appeal and we are very impressed by how quick and efficient both Bloor and Chasetown were. They’ve done a fantastic job and the car park looks so much better.

“I would like to express my gratitude for their work and say a big thank you on behalf of the school.”

Stuart Smith, of Chasetown Civil Engineering, said: “Before we started our work there were around a dozen potholes, some the size of footballs.

“The car park’s surface was really wearing thin but and now the car park is much better condition.”

Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “As a developer, we are always keen to support the local communities close to where we build and I’m delighted we were able to come to the school’s aid.

“Our subcontractors Chasetown have done a superb job and I’m sure the newly resurfaced car park will be welcomed not only by the school but also by local residents and the community as a whole.”
