First homes completed at Bishop's Tachbrook development

The first residents are set to move in at Bloor Homes' new development in Bishop's Tachbrook, where the first homes have now been fully contructed.

Prospective new-build buyers have also been given a financial boost, as the government confirms that the Help to Buy equity loan scheme will continue until 2020.

Bloor Homes is currently building its Oakley Meadow development, on the land off Oakley Wood Road at the southern end of the village, where the first homes have now been fully constructed.

Building work on the 150-home site began in February this year, with the sales office and showhome launching last month.

Michele Rose, Regional Sales Director for Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “Construction work is progressing well at Oakley Meadow and it’s great to see the first plots at the development reaching completion.

“The site in Bishop's Tachbrook benefits from a peaceful village location, easy access to the M40 and excellent road links to Leamington Spa, Stratford and Birmingham, and has therefore proved extremely popular with buyers so far.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the first residents into their homes and would encourage other house hunters in the area to visit our sales office and see for themselves what this superb development has to offer.”

Prospective new-build homebuyers in Bishop's Tachbrook have also been given a financial boost, following the government’s recent confirmation that the Help to Buy equity loan scheme will continue until 2020.

With the Help to Buy equity loan scheme, new-build homebuyers can purchase a property with just a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage.

The remaining 20 per cent of the property’s value is provided by the government as an equity loan which is interest-free for the first five years after purchase.

Michele Rose added: “By allowing buyers to secure a new home with a smaller deposit and reduced mortgage, Help to Buy has made it more affordable for people to buy the home of their dreams.

“The confirmation that the scheme will continue until 2020 is therefore a fantastic boost for buyers looking to step on or move up the property ladder.

“I would encourage people looking for their dream home in Warwickshire to contact our sales team at Oakley Meadow to find out how they could get more home for their money with Help to Buy.
