Land acquired for Anstey

Bloor Homes has acquired land for a new housing development in Anstey, Leicestershire.

The proposed development will offer a superior collection of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes.

25/05/2017 - General

Bloor Homes is planning to build 160 new homes on a 15.4-hectare site located to the west off Cropston Road, at the northern edge of the village.

Detailed planning permission for the scheme was granted in September 2016 by members of Charnwood Borough Council’s planning committee.

The proposed development, which has been named Bloor Homes at Anstey, will comprise a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, including 12 bungalows and 48 of the new homes will be provided as affordable housing.

The site will be served by a new access road and roundabout at the junction of Cropston Road and Anstey Lane.

Paul Degg, Regional Managing Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “We are pleased to have acquired the land for our proposed Bloor Homes at Anstey development, which is a vital step in bringing the scheme to fruition.

“The site is positioned in a highly attractive and sustainable location in the countryside and will provide much-needed private and affordable housing for the area.

“After submitting our plans for the development, we listened carefully to the feedback from the local community and made several changes to improve the scheme, such as including two-bedroom private homes to meet the local demand and locating bungalows along the boundary with Fairhaven Road, as well as altering the layout of the site to minimise on-street parking.

“Building work is scheduled to commence in May, with the first homes due to be completed in the Winter of 2017.”
