Owners of a London-based retail business are leaving the bright lights behind to enjoy their retirement years at a Bloor Homes development in Norfolk.
After 26 years of living in the capital, Garry Herman and Sandra Robertson weren’t expecting to permanently move to the country but couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to buy their dream home in Attleborough.
The pair were so impressed with the quality and space of Bloor’s four-bedroom Malham home at The Oaks that they decided to relocate to the east coast, and now can’t wait to begin their rural retirement adventure in the new year.
Sandra, 63, said: “We never thought we’d move away from London, but it became a no-brainer after we visited Attleborough - we just had to buy a home here.
“We knew we couldn’t afford to buy in central London, so we ventured out towards Essex and then Suffolk where we found our first Bloor development at Rose Brook, and we were so impressed with the homes there that we continued to find Bloor developments nearby.
“When we visited Earl’s Garden in Sible Hedingham, they recommended The Oaks to us, and it was the best decision we ever made to follow the advice given to us.
“The showhome at The Oaks really sold it to us as it was another Malham design. We knew then we had to have a Malham for ourselves, and fortunately the sales advisors helped us to buy one!
“We are counting down the weeks until we move in, and have been up to see the house a couple of times, but we’re now closing in on that move-in date of 29th January, and we really can’t wait.”
The couple have sold their two-bedroom flat in London for £11,000 more than they paid for their new detached four-bedroom property, and are now looking forward to spending their retirement with Roscoe, their three-legged rescue dog.
Sandra added: “I’m really looking forward to going on plenty of long walks with Roscoe, as we’re not too far from the coast and the views are spectacular.
“The plan is to get another dog as well, so that will keep us doubly busy along with the new home, as we’re currently in the process of choosing all of the fittings and carpets. It’s just a really exciting time for us.”
