Builder Chris Lowe knows a thing or two about homes, and it was Bloor Homes he turned to when it came to finding a place for his family.

The dad of five wanted a brand new home to relax in after a hard day’s work, so he chose the Mill Heath development in Martlesham.

And he along with his wife Joy, plus sons William (21) and Alex (20) have recently moved into the three-bedroom Chastleton at Mill Heath.

“I’m a self-employed builder and have been in the trade for 35 years, so I’m getting the hang of it now,” joked Chris. “We wanted to downsize as three of our five kids have left home, so we moved from our six-bedroom home to a three-bedroom mid-terrace townhouse.

“Obviously I have a keener eye than most when it comes to building work and I’ve been very pleased with this place. The finishes and design are excellent.

“You get some of these new house builders where you can see it’s all been built in a rush, but looking at the site as a whole you can see that’s not the case with Bloor. You can see all the designs are quality.

“It’s also a clean site which is always a good sign to look for. If people are organised they’re going to do a better job.

“Another plus with the house is that with modern building regulations, it’s so well insulated and has really efficient boilers.

“I’m 55 now and when I finish work I just want to sit down and relax, and it’s good to be able to do that in a home that won’t need much work.”

Chris, who describes the staff at Bloor as ‘very good’, also can’t speak highly enough of Martlesham as a place to live.

“I saw a survey in the paper the other day which said that Kesgrave up the road was in the top three places to live in the whole country,” said Chris. “And you can see why, but I think Martlesham itself is just that little bit nicer and still has the all the facilities you could need.

“Mill Heath itself is a nice little site and the design is attractive, especially the entrance to the place. I know we’re going to love living here.”
