The development will include a range of one to four-bedroom properties, and 45 of the homes will be provided as affordable housing.
A detailed planning application has been submitted to St Edmundsbury Council, with a decision expected in the spring.
The Bloor Homes development forms part of the wider Marham Park scheme, which is set to comprise up to 991 new homes, a country park, land for a new primary school and a new local centre.
The site will be served by a new link road and roundabout junction on Mildenhall Road.
Andrew Marns, Regional Managing Director for Bloor Homes Eastern, said: “We are delighted to have acquired the land for our proposed development at Marham Park and we look forward to working with Fornham All Saints Parish Council and officers at St Edmundsbury Council in concluding our reserved matters planning application for the scheme in the near future.
“Set within acres of green space, Marham Park will provide a vibrant and attractive new neighbourhood conveniently located just outside Bury St Edmunds and offering easy access to the A14.
“The homes at the development will offer the very best in contemporary open-plan living and subject to planning approval we hope to start construction work on the first homes in the summer.”
