Bloor Homes development to generate investment in charity and community in Kentford

17/07/2015 - General

Work is progressing on a Bloor Homes development in Kentford which will generate investment in a veterinary charity and the local community.

Bloor Homes is building 41 new homes ranging from one to four-bedroom properties at Lambert Grove. Construction work is well underway and house-hunters have already begun making enquiries ahead of the official site launch in August. The eagerly awaited showhome opening will follow in September.

Lambert Grove will fund 12 affordable homes for local people. Bloor Homes will also invest £121,000 in primary education, £24,000 in pre-school education, almost £9,000 towards local libraries and £94,000 to improve public open spaces.

The development is being built on land off Bury Road which Bloor Homes purchased from the neighbouring Animal Health Trust.  Proceeds from the sale will bolster the Animal Health Trust’s funds. The charity fights disease and injury in animals by providing specialist clinical services and education, and undertakes research to develop new diagnostic tests, treatments and vaccines.

Farrah Owens, of the Animal Health Trust, said: “As a charity we are always looking for ways to raise funds for our important research which benefits horses, dogs and cats in the UK and around the world. Selling an unutilised piece of land from Lanwades Park to Bloor for this development has given us a great opportunity to further our work and help even more animals.”

Bloor Homes is known for building high-specification homes to exacting design and build standards. Lambert Grove has been designed to reflect architectural styles found in prominent buildings in the area. Red brickwork, decorative door canopies, chimneys and cottage-style doors will all feature.

Bloor Homes Sales Director, Monika Hanlon, said: “Kentford is a delightful village and we are confident Lambert Grove will be a fitting addition to the area.

“We’re proud of the design for each of the homes and the development overall. Landscaped open spaces will be created around the edges and we have worked hard to preserve mature trees which surround the entire site.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors and showing them our plans. In the meantime we are inviting anyone who would like to find out more to call our sales advisor on 01284 846553, email lambertgrove@bloorhomes.com or visit www.bloorhomes.com.”
