An absolute dream house

Lovely, light, modern & spacious...

Thinking that she was going to lose the chance of the home she had set her heart on, Hazel Lewis spent what she describes as "the worst Christmas I have ever had."

Then suddenly on January 3, everything was back on track and just three days later she was able to complete on her purchase of a brand new three-bedroom home on Bloor Homes’ Marlborough Park at Tamworth.

Hazel, a recently retired widow, wanted a home that was more practical to manage and, importantly, closer to her son and daughter-in-law so that she could help out with her two grandchildren. When she received an offer on her old home the pressure was on. She says: “I looked at lots of properties but then I got a call from Gavin Pole, the sales adviser at Marlborough Park, to see if I might be interested in a house I had looked at briefly when I went to the development to see a different property.” Although the home in question had previously been out of Hazel’s price range, she went back to look and instantly fell in love.

She says: “I really, really liked it. It was lovely, light, modern and spacious, it had a fabulous en-suite and it was eco-friendly. I made an offer and couldn’t believe it when it was accepted. I paid the reservation fee and had my mortgage arranged in a few days.” But with delay after delay and offers coming in from other potential buyers for her new Bloor home, it looked like Hazel's dream could turn into a nightmare.

Eventually though, with a lot of help from Bloor continu ally chasing paperwork and giving encouragement, it all ended perfectly.

“I am so happy here – it’s an absolute dream house, says Hazel. " I feel very, very lucky and can’t speak highly enough of every one on site who has helped me and made me feel really special."

Personalise

Spacious, roomy layout

"When we first saw the house, it just looked stunning. We instantly loved the spacious, roomy layout, and because it’s a new build, we were able to ask Bloor Homes to personalise it to suit our lifestyle.

Compared with the prices of other houses of this size, and the fact that we would have had to personalise them, our Bloor house was very good value and came newly decorated looking just the way we wanted it". Ross and Sarah Austen Taw Vale Quay

Bloor Homes Part Exchange

Looking to buy a brand new home, but your blood pressure rises at the daunting prospect of having to sell your existing property first? Well, Bloor’s part-exchange scheme at its Kington Park development in Kington, Herefordshire, will enable you to move up to your dream home while keeping your stress levels down.

Sales Advisor, Diane Barbierato says around a quarter of all sales at the site have been carried out using their generous part-exchange scheme: “On selected plots we can offer full value on customers existing homes so they are getting an exceptional deal,  particularly compared to many other developers who are only offering 95 per cent of the property value. And on top of this, all our homes benefit from a great build quality and high specification while remaining competitively priced, so customers are getting an amazing deal.”

Rhiannon Carvell-Crook, who recently purchased a home at Kington Park, with her husband Chris, couldn’t agree more. “We already lived in Kington and we weren’t even considering moving home but Chris decided to have a look round the development out of curiosity and was really impressed with the quality and size of the homes on offer,” said Rhiannon. “When he found out about the part-exchange scheme, that clinched the deal for us. It just made everything so simple. We’d moved in within three weeks; just a week before Christmas and two days after our daughter Imogen was born.

“It was our biggest impulse buy, and it all happened very quickly, but we’re so glad we went ahead. We now have a beautiful, brand new home for our growing family and we couldn’t be happier.” A variety of traditional style homes are currently available at ‘Kington Park’, all 4- and 5-bedroom detached houses. Prices start from just £249,950 for a 4-bedroom detached Fulbrook design, featuring an en-suite to the master bedroom, a good sized garden and a garage. Five-bedroom homes start at £319,950 for the attractive Fareham design, which features an en-suite, a generous garden and a double garage.

Why not visit the site and take a closer look at what is available, including Bloor’s  ‘Home of the Week’, a 4-bedroom Denfield design  which offers not one, but two en-suites, a delightful garden and a useful double garage. On the market for just £289,950, it offers a classy fitted kitchen, carpets and flooring laid throughout the property as well as a landscaped front garden and turfed rear garden. Additionally, if you do not require part exchange, Bloor is offering to pay three per cent Stamp Duty and you can move in now.

Kington Park is located on the rural edge of Kington, off the Old Eardisley Road, surrounded by open countryside and rolling Herefordshire hills. The town is surrounded by quiet country lanes but it’s only around 20 miles – or half an hour’s drive - from Hereford, making it a perfect place for those looking for a peaceful home life, but needing to commute to the city to work.

Family find perfect home

Helping you to move to a new home

It’s tricky enough buying a new property but, when you need to sell two properties first, it can become even more complicated. For one couple, the process took two years but with the help of Bloor Homes, they are finally enjoying a new life together.

Richard Bradley met his wife Cathy in Northern Ireland and they planned to marry, sell their respective properties in Leeds and Belfast and buy a new home together in Gloucestershire where Richard was then working, following a job relocation.

Richard said: “Last year we found an ideal property at Chandos Fields - Bloor’s development in Brockworth – but unfortunately, it sold before we had been able to sell our houses and soon the entire development had been completed. Cathy was expecting our first child so we decided to rent a property in the short term. We did this not only because we had enough to worry about at the time, but also because it would give us time to get acquainted with the new area so we had a better idea of where we really wanted to put down some roots.

“We had our son Adam last autumn and waited until the beginning of this year to resume our search for a new home. We looked at several new developments but were always disappointed as they lacked the appeal and the space of the home we’d fallen in love with at Chandos Fields. Then one day, as we were driving home from a viewing with a different builder, we came across another Bloor Homes development at Rudgeway Fields in Walton Cardiff.

“We were delighted to see Sales Advisor Linda Partington in the Marketing Suite as she’d previously worked at Chandos Fields and knew exactly what we were looking for. By this time, we had sold both our properties and were able to move.”

The couple wanted a 4-bedroom home that was big enough to accommodate the new family. The sales team had the ideal property in mind but, because demand at the development was so high, the couple had to buy off plan and wait a few months for their home to be completed. “This wasn’t a problem,” said Richard. “This house was perfect for our needs – it was really spacious and the location was great so we were happy to wait.

“Neither of us knew Tewkesbury very well but we looked round and liked what we saw; it’s a lovely town with all the amenities we need close by. The development itself also ticked all our boxes. It’s extremely popular with young families, and even has its own playground and community centre, which meant that Cathy would be able to get to know new people in the immediate vicinity quite quickly. This was important as she did not know anyone in the area.”

Richard added that he has been impressed with the helpfulness and professionalism of everyone he has come into contact with at Bloor. “When we moved in, my father-in-law accidentally drilled through a water pipe while Cathy and I were out buying furniture. He came across one of the construction team working on site and although he was under no obligation whatsoever to help us, he offered to come round and fix the problem for us. This speaks volumes to us, not just about the quality of the staff and contractors Bloor employs, but of the friendliness of the local people in general. We’ve found everyone to be extremely warm and accommodating and we are thrilled to be part of this lovely new community.”

Linda commented: “We were really disappointed that we were unable to help Richard and Cathy progress with their purchase at Chandos Fields but it was a lovely surprise to see them again here at Rudgeway Fields. We are all pleased to hear that they are now settled in, making new friends and enjoying their new home with their son.”

Four 4-bedroom houses are currently available at Rudgeway Fields. Three styles are available: the Pennard is priced from £225,000; the Kilmersdon Special is £249,950, and the Shillingford, which features a double garage, is £310,000. In addition, two 2-bedroom semi-detached Consort style homes are available for £149,950 and one 3-bedroom Baron style, semi-detached is for sale at £179,950. Further properties can be purchased off-plan for completion next year.

And don’t worry if you need to sell your current property first as you may be able to take advantage of Bloor Homes’ Part-Exchange scheme. The scheme effectively eliminates the need to hire estate agents and deal with viewings, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Using our Part Exchange scheme, we will make you an offer based on 100 per cent of the value of your home, which is calculated by taking the average valuation from three independent local estate agents. You will simply be asked to pay a one-off charge of £750 to cover administration and a survey if required.

Bloor Homes Helped Us

Every step of the way!

"We had fallen out of love with our previous home and were looking to move on. We had seen Satchwell Grange and decided to come for a viewing. The homes we viewed were modern but homely, exactly what we were looking for...

All the houses had off road parking and good size gardens. We are both gardening lovers so a good size garden was essential.

As we were looking to move as quickly as possible, we took part in the Bloor Homes Part-Exchange scheme.

We were very happy with the part exchangee value we were given for our old home and we were able to move into our new home within seven weeks.

Bloor Homes helped us every step of the way, providing help and advice whenever we needed and the support continues after you move in. Bloor were able to recommend a Solicitor, Mortgage Advisor and even helped us find the tradesmen necessary to complete the various reports we needed for our old home for the part-exhange. We also have the extra peace of mind with the ten year guarantee that came with our new home.

I would recommend a new build to anyone. They are a blank canvas and we are having a lot of fun personalising our home. We are safe in the knowledge thre are no 'hidden skeletons' in our new home which can always be a worry if you are buying an older property.  We also like the fact that the homes are built to be as enegry efficient as possible.

The location is great for both of us. Stuart works locally in Wednesdbury, but I do have to travel for my job and there are good links to the M6 and the Black Country New Road from here. We are also close to supermarkets and shopping centres.

When we began looking for a new home, we never envisaged we would ever own a home like this. We have loved our time here so far and we know there are many more years to come!"

Perfect home for couple

Affordable, modern and spacious house

Currently available at Folly Park View are a range of three and four bedroom houses. Prices start from £224.950 and if you need to sell an existing home before purchasing, Bloor Homes might be able to buy your house under their full value part exchange scheme.

What do you want from your new home? Is finding a fantastic location your prime concern, is having a modern, spacious house the top of your list, or is value for money the key to your new home?

How about if you could have all of those? Bloor Homes’ Folly Park View development in Faringdon provided their dream home, in a perfect setting and at an affordable price, according to new purchasers Kim Livesey and Tom Kidd.

They bought their first home together – a two-bedroom Highgate style property –after six years living with Tom’s mother in Abingdon.  The couple were becoming more and more despondent as Kim explained: “The high property prices in Oxfordshire and the level of deposit required by mortgage lenders were making it impossible for us to afford a home of our own. We visited Folly Park View and were really impressed with the development as a whole but at the time there were no homes available within our price range.

“We carried on looking at other properties, probably around 40 in all,  but nothing compared to Folly Park View so when we got a call about six months later to let us know that more two-bedroom houses had become available, we were over the moon. We were so pleased that they had remembered us and had taken the time to get in touch to see if we were still looking for a home, that we quickly returned to the development and bought our home.”

The couple said they were surprised at just what they got for their money. Kim continued: “We’ve got two good sized bedrooms, a family bathroom and an ensuite, not to mention a garden, two parking spaces and quality fixtures and fittings throughout. We’d have got far less if we’d purchased a home in Abingdon and the location here is superb. We really couldn’t have asked for more. We love our new home.”

Currently available at Folly Park View are a range of three and four bedroom houses. Prices start from £224.950 and if you need to sell an existing home before purchasing, Bloor Homes might be able to buy your house under their full value part exchange scheme.

Folly Park View is conveniently situated close to the A420, which is ideal for those who work in nearby Oxford and Swindon, with Faringdon’s charming and historic town centre less than a mile away.
