New proposals at Felixstowe South Sea Front involve the regeneration of a prominent site to provide quality new homes and a Maritime Park.
The scheme involves joint working with Suffolk Coastal District Council which currently owns the site. Planning permission for 158 new homes was previously granted in April 2009, and the latest proposals reflect a revised approach to the site with a reduced number of units and a shift in emphasis towards family-sized houses.
The draft plans for the site were the subject of community consultation and a public exhibition at Felixstowe Town Hall on Wednesday 14th December, 2011 between 12 noon and 7pm. Over 100 local people attended to give their views which will be considered by the design team. A planning application is expected to be submitted in January 2012, and it is hoped that work can commence on site in the late Spring/early Summer.
