With the high number of enthusiastic cyclists within the company, the Bloor Homes Cheltenham Festival of Cycling, featuring the OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2017, resonates perfectly with the national housebuilder’s vision.

Bloor Homes strongly believes in engaging with the local communities in which it builds as well as making a difference through their support and culture involvement. The festival was therefore a perfect opportunity because it will feature a series of town-wide initiatives to enjoy and educate.

On September 9th, Cheltenham will come to life whilst providing a platform to more than 120 elite cyclists as they cross the penultimate Stage 7 finish line of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain in Imperial Gardens, televised nationwide.

On the day of the event Bloor Homes will have four Bloor Ambassadors welcoming and interacting with spectators in an exhibition tent in amongst all of the action.

To make it a particularly memorable day for all visitors, the Bloor Homes tent will provide some fun activities for the public, including a ‘dress up’ as a site manager where children can try on construction clothing for fun and photographs. There will also be a competition prize draw where spectators are asked to guess how many bricks are in a selected home from the Prestbury Chase development in Cheltenham. The winner will be rewarded with an exclusive £250 Leisure Lakes Bikes voucher.

Mark Powell, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Western, said: “We are immensely proud to sponsor this iconic event in Cheltenham, which celebrates cycling at its very best. I am sure the festival will bring the whole town together to support these elite athletes. Bloor Homes is committed to supporting the communities in which it builds and we look forward to what is sure to be a hugely successful event.”

Cllr Rowena Hay, Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “I’m delighted by Bloor Homes’ enthusiasm for the Tour and their support for the council during the organisation of the Cheltenham Festival of Cycling. The support of our sponsors is essential to making this event a real success. We expect the event to attract thousands of spectators to the final of Stage Seven."
