You can also enjoy a serious day of shopping in Oxford or you could branch out only 22 miles away from home to Bicester Village, one of the country’s largest designer shopping destinations. 

Families looking for the ideal day out with the children will certainly enjoy the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, or the Cogges Manor Farm Museum in Witney, offering demonstrations, tours and animal feeding - perfect for little ones.
 
Outstanding education in Witney

 
Witney offers plenty of primary schools close to home, including The Batt C of E School with an Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding’. Others are West Witney Primary School – only a 5 minute drive away, Madley Brook Community Primary and Tower Hill Primary School, all of which are rated ‘Good’ by Oftsed.

There are three county secondary schools, including the Henry Box Comprehensive School, which takes its name from a local boy who, like Dick Whittington, went to London to seek his fortune and returned to found the school in 1662. Other secondary schools are Wood Green School and also Springfield School – a state school for pupils aged 2 to 16 with severe learning difficulties.

Independent schools include Cokethorpe School, for boys and girls aged between 4 to 18, about 3.5 miles away.

Older students will find Abingdon & Witney College at the local campus, officially Oxfordshire's most successful college and in the top 10% nationwide.

Travelling in and around Witney
 
Windrush Place sits not too far from the main A40 road, a handy road link between London and Birmingham dotted with picturesque country villages along the way. With Oxford 15 miles to the west and Cheltenham 30 miles to the east, both are within easy reach. The M40 motorway is around 20 miles away so journeys to London (70 miles) and Birmingham (86 miles) can both take as little as an hour and a half.

Oxford Station is about a 20 minute drive away, with excellent local train services and regular routes to London (Paddington 59 mins) and Birmingham (New Street 63 mins).

Witney is also well placed for commuting throughout the region to towns such as Bicester (22 miles), Banbury (25 miles), Cirencester (25 miles) and Swindon (25 miles).
