Located just 7 miles from the town of Oakham, The Elms at Uppingham can be easily reached on the A47 between Leicester and Peterborough. Enjoy being in a beautiful market town, with easy access to popular cities in the Midlands.

On the western edge of Uppingham, The Elms at Uppingham is positioned in the heart of Rutland, 7 miles from the county town of Oakham. With its weekly market and prosperous farming hinterland, Uppingham has a thriving local economy, with everything you need for day to day living. There is a post office, doctor's surgery, pharmacy and a Co-op food store, as well as a library and a great range of independent shops for fresh local produce. The town is particularly noted for art, antiques and craft shops.  

Families will appreciate the popular village primary school - rated 'Good' by Ofsted - as well as the famous Uppingham School, one of the country's leading independent schools. As you'd expect, Uppingham has a wealth of local sports clubs, community groups and activities for all ages. The annual Fatstock Show is the last of its kind in England, with cattle, sheep and pigs in temporary pens in the Market Square, and prizewinning farmers celebrating in The Falcon Hotel.

The nearest train station to The Elms at Uppingham is Oakham, from where you can get regular trains to Birmingham, Leicester, Peterborough and beyond, with connections to London St Pancras or London Kings Cross, both under 2 hours. By car, The Elms at Uppingham is on the A47 between Leicester (20 miles) and Peterborough (23 miles), with good road links to Northampton (31 miles), Nottingham (41 miles) and Birmingham (67 miles). The nearest airport is Nottingham East Midlands (40 miles).*
