of your property being valued

Having a full appreciation of the difficulties of buying a new home, our part exchange scheme makes it easier than ever for you to make the move to Bloor Homes, working together to help you move on time, with no stress. Please click 'more info' below for terms & conditions...

How it works

The company will select at least two local estate agents, and arrange for independent valuations of your property.

We aim to make you a part exchange offer within 24 hours of receipt of the valuations.

If your property is currently on the market, your agent will not necessarily be one of the agents who is asked to prepare valuations unless you have signed a specific contract with that agent, in which case please let us know.

We will take account of the valuations of your property and make you an offer based on those valuations.

If our offer is accepted, you can reserve your new Bloor Home, subject to contract and satisfactory structural survey plus a visit from a Bloor Homes member of staff to view your property.

You must pay a deposit of £750, this covers the increased administration and survey costs.

We will help you to choose a solicitor and provide you with independent financial advice, to ensure that completion of the purchase of your new home is achieved in an agreed timescale.

Once the results of the structural survey are received, we will discuss the report with you, and on the basis that it is satisfactory, you can proceed with your purchase - and leave the rest to us, giving you more time to concentrate on moving to your dream home.

You do not have to worry about purchasers changing their mind and wasted solicitors fees, or agreeing completion dates with a long house chain - it’s just you and Bloor Homes working together to help you move on time, with no stress.

The Bloor Homes Part Exchange Scheme is subject to our purchasing critieria and may be withdrawn at any time.

Available on selected plots, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Should your house be sold whilst in occupation Bloor Homes will pay an early sale bonus.

Dunstable is a historic market town in the county of Bedfordshire, situated at the eastern end of the Chiltern hills.  The area has an impressive history surrounding Dunstable Priory which was not only the place of Henry VIII’s divorce from Catherine of Aragon but also where the first ever play to be seen in England was performed, written by Geoffrey de Gorham in the 12th Century.

Today the area offers residents a variety of leisure activities, shops and nightlife to keep an active lifestyle.  The town has five main shopping areas within walking distance of the central crossroads. From High Street names to traditional markets, Dunstable has something for everyone.  The long-established Outdoor Market takes place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in the Market Square and town centre car park.

For those who love the outdoors, Dunstable offers more than 180 acres of parks, gardens and open spaces, not to mention football pitches, Dunstable Downs golf club, cricket grounds, a bowling green and tennis courts. The town also boasts its own football club—Dunstable Town FC.  Further afield, Dunstable Downs is a chalk escarpment ideal for walking, kite flying and for the more adventurous, paragliding and hang-gliding.

Other areas of interest include the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo on the outskirts of Dunstable, the beautiful Grade II listed Priory House and the Grove Theatre, a multi-million pound theatre complex which regularly stages both local and national productions.

Saving Pays Off For Couple

Who Buy Brand New Home

First Time buyers Richard and Carly buy their dream home at our Living @ The Edge development in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Our new 'Help To Buy' scheme can help you get your foot onto the property ladder.

Bloor Homes highlights: With research by the Castle Trust illustrating how house buyers in London need an average of £72,760 to secure a 20% deposit, commuting into London from Dunstable made perfect sense for one couple. Richard and Carly achieved their dream of owning their first property at Bloor's Living @ The Edge development.

Richard explains: "We saw the Marford housetype as a complete shell in July last year and moved in three months later. I commute into London for work as a Graphic Designer and I couldn't imagine trying to get on the property ladder there. It takes me now just over an hour to commute, which I'm happy to do so we can live in this house. It also means we've got the space for whatever the future brings, having two bedrooms makes all the difference for us."

Potential buyers who are looking to purchase a newly built home will be able to take advantage of Bloor Homes new 'Help To Buy' scheme which is now available at the Living @ The Edge development. Under the new initiative, a buyer will be able to take out a mortgage for just 75% of the cost of the property, provided they can put down a 5% deposit. Those who qualify will be eligible for an "equity loan" worth up to 20% of the value of the property, funded by the government, which will be interest free for the first five years.

'Help to Buy' is an expansion of an existing scheme called FirstBuy, which went live in 2011, but the new version is open to those looking to move up the housing ladder, as well as first-time buyers. It also has fewer restrictions than FirstBuy; the maximum property price that will be considered is £600,000 and there is no cap on the maximum amount someone can earn to be eligible.

Richard concludes: "Choosing to live here means we've been able to move into our first home much sooner than we thought and get a much larger property than we thought we could afford! Our Yorkshire terrier, Finley, is really enjoying the garden and we can't wait to host BBQ's in the summer!"

Just like Richard and Carly's, the Marford is a popular two bedroom home with spacious lounge, open-plan kitchen/dining room, and family bathroom. There is an additional en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, and the property comes with either parking, a car port or a garage.

The home also features LED strip cupboard lighting, fitted wardrobes, contemporary chrome fittings, and a fully fitted quality kitchen with integrated fridge/freezer.

The homes at Living @ The Edge are all designed differently to suit everyone's own needs and lifestyles. All the houses are finished to a high specification, which is the trademark of the Bloor Homes brand, with prices starting at £136,000 (with Help to Buy) for a two bedroom Hatfield.

Dunstable offers everything you need for an active and well-balanced lifestyle. The town centre offers an abundance of shops, restaurants and a theatre complex, whilst the 188 acres of parkland, gardens, open spaces and pretty scenery of the East Chilterns are all on the doorstep.

For commuters, nearby Luton offers fast rail service to London and Luton Airport is close at hand, whilst there are good transport links to the A5, M1 and A421.
