Our training and development is very important to us. We want to provide our employees with the opportunity to develop their skills and realise their potential on an ongoing basis. There is plenty of on-the job training and in some roles we'll help you to gain qualifications, so you can build a bright future with us.
An Induction Programme
No one likes being thrown in at the deep end, so our induction programme will help you settle in as early as when you first accept our job offer through to the first couple of weeks with the company. It's an opportunity to get to know about the company, the people who work for us and how things are done. In addition, within your first 3 months you will attend a centralised induction at our Head Office in Meahsam.
This is more specific to your role and will tell you everything you need to know about your job. We’ll show you the finer points of your day-to-day duties, so you know exactly what we need. It’s basically about giving you the tools to do your job.
Trainee Site Managers
If you’re good at organising people, we’ll give you all the encouragement you need to become a fully fledged site manager. We have a complete trainee programme in place where you can shadow our experienced managers and get a college-based qualification under your belt. You will also gain an understanding of other trades and roles within the business to prepare you for managing your very own site.
Bloor Homes has always recognised the need for an on-going supply of skilled trades for the benefit of the company and the industry as a whole. To achieve this, we are investing in the training and development of site apprentices for carpentry and bricklaying. From day one, you will be helping to build houses, learning skills, receiving training and being paid while you learn. In three years you'll have a valuable skill, trained to Advanced Craft (NVQ3), no debts, and a job for a life.
You will have an agreed programme of learning, and a dedicated Apprentice Master, who is fully qualified and chosen for his ability to coach and develop your skills.
After completing your apprenticeship, your career can take any path you want! You could become your own boss, you could work for a subcontractor, or you could continue to work for Bloor Homes as a Trainee Site Manager. There is no obligation to work for Bloor Homes after completing your apprenticeship - but we hope you do.
You could join us from a non-sales background or as someone with lots of sales experience. Either way, we’re looking for people who put customer satisfaction at the very top.
